Last week to take advantage of the vCloud upgrade promo

Posted on December 10, 2012

vmware_smJust a reminder that this is the last week to take advantage of the vCloud upgrade promo as the current upgrade promotion ends on December 15, 2012. Current Enterprise Plus customers can upgrade their current licenses to vCloud Suite Standard at no cost, and between other levels at various promotional prices. Just be aware that you will transition to the maintenance cost associated with the suite, which goes without saying but may not immediately as you consider the additional functionality you gain from the suite. You can further benefit if your renewal is coming due by renewing your Enterprise Plus support for one to three years before the 15th and then upgrading to vCloud Suite Standard. You will then have locked in Enterprise Plus support costs for that amount of time and will not assume the new support cost until the support term has expired. That can add up to substantial additional savings. Remember that the order must be processed by your reseller, by VMware, and reflected in your licensing portal by the 15th, so act today!

You can find more information one the vCloud Suite upgrade promo page and through your reseller.

Note that I am not a reseller, just a regular customer. We chose to renew our Enterprise Plus support for three years, then upgrade to vCloud Suite Standard through the promo to save on both the initial per processor buy-in cost and increased support costs over three years. The amount you save will depend on what discount level you currently have which I am sure varies by the number of processors you have purchased, and whether you are commercial, academic, government, etc.

  1. Have you had a chance to check out VMware’s Cloud Academy for vCloud? It’s got a bunch of great resources that I think you and your readers would enjoy. Check it out here: http://vcloud.vmware.com/cloud-academy
